Brief of Manager - Alumni Relations


Overall Purpose of the Role This role is responsible for building, nurturing, and leveraging a strong alumni community to support FIIB's long-term institutional goals, brand equity, and student outcomes. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders to create meaningful alumni engagement across lifecycle stages, while ensuring robust systems, data, and communication mechanisms are in place. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, relationship management, communication excellence, and execution discipline, with a focus on creating a vibrant, connected, and value-driven alumni ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities


1. Alumni Engagement & Community Building ? Plan and organize alumni reunions, networking events, and engagement initiatives across geographies. ? Promote the alumni community among current students and ensure a seamless transition from student to alumnus. ? Design and implement Alumni Volunteer Programmes to deepen engagement and contribution.
2. Relationship Management & Outreach ? Develop and strengthen alumni networks in India and abroad, leveraging relationships to support institutional priorities such as mentoring, placements, admissions advocacy, and branding. ? Drive persuasive and consistent communication with alumni using a mix of channels including calls, emails, messaging, and social media. ? Build credibility and long-term relationships with senior alumni and industry leaders.
3. Digital Platforms & Data Management ? Own and manage the alumni website and online community platforms. ? Ensure accurate, regular updating and maintenance of alumni data, with strong data governance practices. ? Leverage campus IT systems and partner with IT teams to ensure effective alumni administration and digital engagement; sponsor or support key system enhancements as required.
4. Institutional Visibility & Brand Building ? Raise the alumni relations profile across the student and participant community. ? Position alumni as key stakeholders and ambassadors of the institution.
5. Reporting, Governance & Measurement ? Develop real-time reporting mechanisms, KPIs, and dashboards to track alumni engagement and program outcomes. ? Monitor effectiveness of initiatives and use insights to continuously improve alumni strategies. Experience & Skills ? 3-5 years of proven experience in relationship management, community engagement, or customer-facing roles. ? Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse industries, functions, seniority levels, and career stages. ? Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation, public speaking, and event management. ? Strong organizational and program management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines. ? Experience in planning, budgeting, and delivering projects successfully. ? Proficiency in standard PC applications, social media platforms, and Google Workspace. Behavioural Competencies ? Strong service orientation with a focus on quality and stakeholder experience. ?
