The Aluminium Fitter will be responsible for the precise fabrication and assembly of aluminium facade elements and systems within our manufacturing facility. This role requires adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards, along with a strong understanding of aluminium fabrication techniques and safe factory work practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Assembly:
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for aluminium facade components (e.g., curtain walls, windows, doors, cladding panels).
Measure, cut, drill, punch, and shape aluminium profiles and sheets accurately using various hand and power tools (e.g., saws, drills, routers, presses) within the factory setting.
Assemble aluminium frames, panels, and units according to design specifications, ensuring precise alignment and fit.
Install gaskets, sealants, and other necessary components into aluminium frames.
Perform quality checks on fabricated components to ensure they meet dimensional and structural requirements before dispatch.
Maintenance & Safety:
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order within the factory, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies specific to a manufacturing environment.
Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues promptly to the Production Supervisor.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work effectively as part of a team within the fabrication workshop.
Communicate clearly with the Production Supervisor, engineers, and other team members regarding project progress, challenges, and requirements.
Quality Control:
Contribute to the company's quality management system by ensuring all factory work is performed to the highest standards.
Identify and report any non-conformities or deviations from design.
Skills & Knowledge:
Minimum 5 years of experience as Aluminium Fabricator
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural/engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
Expertise in using various hand and power tools common to aluminium fabrication (e.g., chop saws, routing machines, drills, rivet guns).
Basic understanding of welding techniques (e.g., TIG welding for aluminium) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a factory setting.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Strong adherence to safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
