CNC OPERATOR CUM PROGRAMMER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for planning and programming the machine contour-path and to determine the best methods for setting up and machining of wooden parts in CNC. Determine optimal tooling and cutting parameters based on design and setup. Plan and execute machining processes individually or as a team Work individually or as a team on continuous improvement efforts Maintain revision and quality control on programs, tool sheets, and setup documentation. Perform design rule checks and edit data to comply with manufacturing guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Drawings / Data of the finalised model from Solid Works via. STEP,IGES,DXF etc to be imported on CAM / ALPHA CAM Software. To generate simple tool paths for these drawings, verify the tool path and generate processed program. Study of parameters like tool selection, feed rate, spindle speed of job setup. Create custom made tool holder, inserts tool library etc. Engraving on the surfaces, use of sub programs for reducing the program length, custom made drilling cycles, rough and finish mortising. Transferring programs into the CNC machine and if required editing parameters in CNC machine. The edited parameters in CNC machine need to be updated in Solid Works for updating and to finalise the model. Sample machining of job (wood) as per drawing created in CAD

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial.
Sitting for extended periods is common.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mechanical Engineering or any equivalent degree Minimum 3 years of experience in AlphaCAM softwares in any industry
