Alpha Alternatives - Senior Long Short Equity Trader

- Alpha Alternatives is a multi-asset class alternatives asset management platform based out of India and Singapore, with over 6000 crs of assets under management, and deep focus on alpha generation. We are passionate about finding alternative investment opportunities that can deliver superior risk-return characteristics. We operate across various alternative spaces like Commodities, Equities, Absolute Returns, Structured Credit, Fixed Income and Quant. Our products span across various investment structures such as AIF, PMS, NBFC and FPI.

- Our team consists of 150+ people who are vastly experienced across domestic and global hedge funds and financial institutions and have strong academic credentials at top universities.

- We are looking for Senior traders or a Team of traders to join us in our Equities Long Short team.

Key responsibilities for the roles are as follows:

1. To be able to run a book and simultaneously manage a team of traders for Equity Indices and Individual Stocks.

2. Development and deployment of trading strategies with short to medium-term holding periods and higher risk-adjusted returns.

3. To be able to suggest trade ideas and strategies, as well as help, develop new strategies across Indices and Individual Stocks.

4. Evaluating trading algorithms and implementing effective trading strategies.

5. Understand and implement risk monitoring and risk mitigating systems for themselves and a team of traders.

6. Coordinate with multiple stakeholders in the context of trading and associated activities.

7. Explore multiple asset classes and help diversify across multiple non-correlated trading instruments.

We are looking for individuals who can manage a team and help build a scalable equities trading desk. Traders can have a background in fundamental trading, system trading, technical analysis, market neutral strategies or a mix of technical and fundamental analysis. We are looking for diversification within the team.

The candidate will be required to have:

1. A proven track record of at least 5 to 10 years proving their trading edge.

2. Leadership qualities, high energy, driven with an ability to meet targets & deadlines.

3. Must be detail oriented and should possess budget management skills.

4. Intrinsic interest in investing and knowledge of equity markets, investment types and industry best practices.

5. A person or team that is highly adaptable with a good emotional quotient to deal with markets and other individuals well in a high-stress environment.

6. Proven stakeholder management skills within a fast-paced, agile environment.
