The Safety & Quality Project Delivery Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering safety, compliance, and quality improvement projects across the airline. This role ensures that all initiatives related to Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), audit programs, regulatory compliance, and operational risk controls are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with aviation regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Delivery & Execution
Lead end-to-end delivery of safety, quality, and compliance projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and regulatory initiatives.
Develop detailed project plans, scope documents, timelines, and resource plans.
Coordinate cross-functional teams (Flight Ops, Ground Ops, Engineering, Cabin, Safety, Compliance, IT, Training, etc.).
Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
2. Safety & Compliance Implementation
Oversee rollout of Safety Management System tools and processes (hazard reporting, risk assessment, safety performance monitoring).
Drive implementation of Quality Management System modules such as audit management, corrective actions, and compliance tracking.
Ensure alignment with ICAO Annex 19, EASA, GCAA, FAA, and IOSA standards.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as primary liaison between operations teams, vendors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Facilitate project workshops, safety meetings, and requirement-gathering sessions.
Provide regular updates to senior management and steering committees.
4. Data, Technology & Systems
Lead the deployment of digital safety platforms, audit systems, EFB integrations, and reporting dashboards.
Work with IT teams to ensure system configuration, user acceptance testing (UAT), data migration, and go-live readiness.
Ensure systems meet airline operational and regulatory needs.
5. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Validate process changes, conduct post-implementation reviews, and measure project success.
Identify gaps in operational processes and propose improvement initiatives.
Drive standardization, documentation, and adoption of best practices.
6. Training & Change Management
Prepare user manuals, SOP updates, and functional training materials.
Conduct training programs for safety, compliance, and operational staff.
Ensure effective change management and user adoption across departments.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, Safety, Quality, or related discipline.
2-3 years' experience in airline safety, quality, audit, compliance, or operational excellence.
Strong knowledge of SMS, QMS, ICAO, IOSA, EASA/GCAA regulations.
Proven experience managing cross-functional aviation projects.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) is an advantage.
Experience with Safety & Quality software (e.g., QMSmart, Ideagen, AQD, Intelex, Vistair, Coruson, etc.).
Background in Flight Ops, Ground Ops, Engineering, or Safety departments.
