The Environmental Air Permitting Specialist in the Shale & Tight business is responsible for providing technical support and expertise on air permitting and compliance issues. This role involves managing air quality data, ensuring compliance with air regulations, and advising on federal and state legislation related to air emissions. The specialist will collaborate with various regional business stakeholders to integrate air permitting requirements into business operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support through the development of air permit applications within the Shale & Tight Upstream Oil and Gas operations, ensuring adherence to United States federal and state air quality regulations. Ensure data collection methods and practices comply with local, state, and federal air regulations and standards. Prepare reports to demonstrate compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Manage the collection, analysis, and preparation of air quality permits to support regulatory submissions. Support the implementation of air-related federal and state legislation, ensuring organizational compliance and strategic alignment. Partner with internal customers, such as operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams, to compile data for assurance and reporting. Facilitate compliance with air permits, monitoring, reporting, and notifications. Serve as support to the applicable BU for regulatory agency requests and audits. Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on air permit emissions and compliance metrics. Have the demonstrated ability to find improvement opportunities in processes involving management of large and complex datasets. Facilitate communication and coordination between internal teams to ensure timely submittals.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in environmental science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field. Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in required qualifications. Required experience in preparing air permit applications compliant with US state and federal requirements within the oil and gas industry. Strong technical knowledge of United States federal air quality regulations and their application to upstream business operations (such as NESHAP, NSPS, MACT, Title V, or NSR). Proven ability to manage air quality data, including collection, complex emission calculations, and data analysis. Strong understanding and experience in data analysis tools and software; including Excel, SEEQ, and PowerBi. + Preference for candidates with knowledge of specialized environmental reporting software (specifically Cority / ACTS)
Consistent demonstration of communicating areas of concern or identification of compliance concerns with regional business contacts. Strong communication skills and capable of working effectively in teams and across functions to deliver results. Strong attention to detail, project management, and prioritization skills needed.

Preferred QualificationsPreferred candidate will have experience with a breadth of understanding of air quality regulations for Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, or North Dakota. Preferred candidate will have experience preparing air permit applications in either Colorado, Texas, North Dakota and/or New Mexico
