We are seeking a skilled

AI / Machine Learning Engineer

to develop advanced AI-driven tools for civil engineering, land surveying, GIS, stormwater, utilities, and infrastructure design workflows. This is a

remote, flexible, part-time or contractual position

with an

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and deploy AI/ML models to automate engineering and surveying tasks. Build RAG pipelines for engineering codes, permitting requirements, and technical documents. Automate extraction of features from PDF plan sheets, CAD files, GIS layers, and survey datasets. Work with geospatial data, LiDAR/point clouds, DEMs, and hydrology-related information. Build end-to-end ML pipelines (training ? validation ? deployment ? monitoring). Integrate AI solutions into engineering workflows (CAD automation, document generation, data analysis). Collaborate with civil engineers, surveyors, GIS specialists, and technical staff. Research and apply new AI advancements relevant to engineering and infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:



Master's degree in

AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science

, or related field. Expert knowledge of Python, NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch. Experience with

LLMs, Generative AI, LangChain, RAG, vector databases

. Ability to process structured & unstructured engineering datasets (PDF/CAD/GIS). Familiarity with AWS / Azure / GCP. Understanding of MLOps, CI/CD, Docker, and model deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:



Experience applying AI to civil engineering, construction, surveying, or GIS. CAD API automation (AutoCAD/Civil 3D), GIS automation, or Computer Vision experience. NLP expertise for engineering manuals, permitting guidelines, and technical documents. Kubernetes or workflow automation knowledge (nice to have).
