AI Engineer - Geospatial & Generative AI

About the Role

We're seeking a AI Engineer to join our team building cutting-edge AI solutions for agriculture and geospatial intelligence. You'll work at the intersection of satellite imagery, machine learning, and generative AI to solve real-world problems in farming, land management, and environmental monitoring. This role offers hands-on experience developing production ML systems that impact farmers and agricultural stakeholders across multiple countries.

What You'll DoAI & Machine Learning Development

Design, train, and deploy deep learning models for agricultural applications including farm boundary detection, crop classification, cloud masking, and vegetation health monitoring Build computer vision pipelines using modern architectures (CNNs, U-Net, FCN, GANs) for satellite image segmentation and analysis Optimize model performance through rigorous evaluation (IoU, accuracy, F1-score) and iterative improvements Deploy models to production environments with robust inference pipelines
Geospatial & Remote Sensing Intelligence

Process and analyze multi-source satellite imagery including Sentinel-1 (SAR), Sentinel-2 (optical), and Landsat data Work with raster and vector geospatial data, handling CRS transformations, tiling, mosaicking, and cloud masking Develop GIS-based analytical workflows using Python geospatial libraries Support projects spanning India, North America, and other international regions
Generative AI & Conversational Systems

Build LLM-powered applications for agricultural advisory and decision support Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines with domain-specific knowledge bases Design and optimize prompts for agricultural use cases Develop multilingual AI systems to serve diverse farming communities
Backend Integration & Deployment

Build production-ready REST APIs using FastAPI to expose AI/ML capabilities Deploy and manage models on AWS infrastructure (SageMaker, S3, EC2) Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate AI services into larger systems Implement monitoring and logging for production ML systems
Collaboration & Impact

Work closely with geospatial experts, agronomists, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions Document models, experiments, and workflows following best practices Contribute to government and enterprise projects with measurable agricultural impact

What We're Looking ForRequired

Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning fundamentals Experience with Python and at least one ML framework (PyTorch/TensorFlow) Background in

one or more

of: satellite imagery analysis, GIS, agriculture, forestry, or remote sensing Understanding of computer vision techniques for image analysis Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions Good communication and documentation skills
Preferred

Experience processing satellite imagery (Sentinel, Landsat) or SAR data Familiarity with geospatial libraries (Rasterio, GDAL, GeoPandas) Knowledge of vegetation indices (NDVI, EVI) and land use classification Exposure to LLMs or generative AI applications Experience with FastAPI or similar API frameworks Understanding of AWS cloud services Prior work on agricultural, environmental, or forestry projects
