About the Role
We are seeking a high-impact, hands-on Principal AI Architect with deep expertise in Enterprise Architecture, Java, Cloud, and next-generation AI systems. This role is ideal for a builder and strategist who can design scalable, secure, multi-tenant platforms while being equally comfortable getting into the code, collaborating with customers, and driving delivery.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping our AI-first digital platform strategy, integrating web, mobile, and backend ecosystems. Over time, this position will evolve into a leadership role, guiding the Enterprise Architecture and AI Center of Excellence (CoE) - setting the vision, frameworks, and standards for the organization's next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
AI & Platform Architecture

• Architect, design, and implement AI-driven SaaS platforms that unify mobile, web, and backend ecosystems.
• Lead the Agentic AI Architecture roadmap - orchestrating LLM-based agents and autonomous workflows.
• Build and optimize microservices-based systems using Java/Spring Boot, integrated with modern front-end stacks (React, Angular, Flutter, etc.).
• Ensure architectural excellence in scalability, multi-tenancy, security, and data orchestration across distributed systems.
• Integrate AI and data pipelines using vector databases, RAG frameworks, and AI model serving technologies.

Cloud & DevOps

• Design and lead cloud-native architectures using AWS / Azure / GCP (containers, serverless, Kubernetes).
• Drive infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and observability frameworks ensuring high availability and low latency.
• Work closely with DevOps to optimize deployment, cost, and performance for global-scale systems.

Security & Data Privacy

• Enforce security-by-design principles - including encryption, identity management, and data isolation.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and data protection best practices (HITRUST optional).
• Lead architecture reviews for data governance, threat modeling, and secure design.

Customer Engagement & Leadership

• Act as a customer-facing technical leader, supporting enterprise clients through discovery, architecture design, and deployment phases.
• Partner with product and delivery teams to convert customer requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
• Mentor and coach engineering teams on AI, cloud, and architectural excellence.
• Lay the foundation for an internal Enterprise Architecture & AI CoE, defining reusable blueprints and governance frameworks.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in Enterprise Architecture and Java-based software engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in AI architecture - including LLMs, RAG, vector databases, LangChain, or agentic AI frameworks.
• Deep Java expertise - Spring Boot, Microservices, API design, performance tuning.
• Proven experience building multi-tenant, scalable SaaS systems on the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of web and mobile platform architecture and end-to-end integration strategies.
• Hands-on experience in security, DevOps, and data privacy frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - able to engage directly with customers, partners, and executives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Digital Health industries.
• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, OMOP, or related interoperability standards.
• Experience with AI/ML model operationalization, AI observability, and AI governance.
• Exposure to enterprise modernization (legacy transformation, API gateways, data fabrics).
• Proven ability to lead architecture teams and define organization-wide technology strategy.
