This individual should possess a strong background in fish seed management, water and fish health, and fish feed management, and be willing to engage in various aspects of farm management. : Position Overview: PonicOne is seeking an experienced Aquaponics Researcher with a strong focus on the plant side of aquaponics systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in aquaponics research and plant science. Responsibilities: 1. Research Planning: Develop and execute research projects focused on plant growth in aquaponics systems. This includes designing experiments, setting up aquaponics systems, and selecting appropriate plant species. 2. Data Collection: Monitor and collect data related to plant health, growth rates, and nutrient uptake in aquaponics setups. Ensure data accuracy and reliability. 3. Analysis: Analyze research data to identify trends, correlations, and opportunities for optimization. Interpret findings and make recommendations for improvements. 4. Crop Selection: Research and select plant species suitable for aquaponics systems, considering factors like nutrient requirements, growth patterns, and market demand. 5. Nutrient Management: Develop strategies for efficient nutrient cycling within aquaponics systems to promote plant health and minimize waste. 6. Collaboration: Collaborate with other researchers and team members, including aquaculture experts, to ensure a holistic approach to aquaponics research. 7. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and documentation of research findings. Communicate results to both internal teams and external stakeholders. 8. Continuous Learning: To integrate new knowledge into research projects and stay current with the latest aquaponics and plant science advancements. Qualifications: - A minimum of 2 years of experience in aquaponics or hydroponics, with a strong focus on plant-related aspects. - Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in a related field (e.g., Plant Science, Agriculture, Aquaculture). - Strong knowledge of plant biology, growth cycles, and nutrient requirements. - Proficiency in data collection and analysis, including statistical analysis tools. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team. - Familiarity with aquaponics systems and their components is a plus.
