As a Senior Agronomist, you will lead the technical advisory vertical, ensuring scientific accuracy in farmer recommendations and driving store sales. You will take ownership of developing and standardizing the

Package of Practices (POP)

for Conventional and IPM systems while serving as the primary technical subject matter expert for the region.

Mandatory Requirements



Experience:

6 to 7 years of practical field-level agronomy experience.

Language:

Proficiency in

Kannada

(reading, speaking, and farmer communication) is mandatory.

Mobility:

Willingness to travel and work between Bengaluru & Chamarajanagar locations.

Key Responsibilities1. Strategic POP Development (Core Responsibility)



Lead the creation of detailed, crop-wise

Package of Practices (POP)

for major crops including Chilli, Tomato, Cotton, Paddy, Maize, Turmeric, Banana, and Vegetables.+1 Develop protocols for

Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

, Conventional farming, and Residue-safe/Export-oriented cultivation. Define precise schedules for: Fertilizer dosage and irrigation practices. Pest and disease management using

MOA-based rotation

to prevent resistance. Biological control measures and stage-wise spray schedules.

2. Advanced Field Advisory & Diagnostics



Conduct field visits to diagnose complex crop health issues, pest outbreaks, and nutrient deficiencies. Provide expert guidance on pesticide dosage, spray intervals, and

Pre-Harvest Intervals (PHI)

. Maintain comprehensive advisory records and track regional pest/disease trends to proactively warn farmers and management.+1

3. Technical Leadership & Sales Enablement



Serve as the in-house technical authority, supporting the sales team with scientific product recommendations.

Train store staff

on technical product details, including new molecules, MOA groups, and dosage requirements. Assist management in product planning and seasonal demand estimation based on field trends.

4. Farmer Education & Compliance



Design and ensure availability of POP charts, crop calendars, and pest identification posters in Kannada and English. Lead farmer meetings and store demonstrations to drive POP adoption. Ensure all advisory aligns with safe and legal pesticide use guidelines.

Required Skills



Expert-level knowledge of agronomy, soil nutrition, and IPM. Deep understanding of

Mode of Action (MOA)

groups for resistance management. Excellent communication skills in Kannada for effective farmer training. Proficiency in basic computer tools (Excel, Word) for reporting and POP documentation.

Rate of adoption by farmers under your advisory.

Sales Growth:

Technical contribution to store revenue.

Loss Reduction:

Measurable reduction in crop loss for client farmers.

Training Impact:

Effectiveness of staff and farmer training sessions.
