Role Summary
The Agronomist will provide technical crop advisory to farmers and support store sales through scientific recommendations. A core part of this role involves developing detailed
Package of Practices (POP)
for major crops under both conventional and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) systems.
Mandatory Requirements
Language:

Practical field-level agronomy experience (minimum 3 years for mid-level roles).+1
Key Responsibilities1. Field Advisory & Farmer Support
Conduct regular field visits to diagnose crop health, pests, diseases, and nutrient issues.
Provide stage-wise crop management guidance and recommend seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and bio-inputs.
Advise on pesticide dosage, spray intervals, Pre-Harvest Intervals (PHI), and resistance management (MOA rotation).
Maintain detailed records of field visits and advisory provided.
2. Package of Practices (POP) Development
Create detailed crop-wise POPs for Conventional, IPM, and residue-safe/export-oriented farming.
Varieties, seed rates, land preparation, and spacing.
Fertilizer schedules and irrigation practices.
Weed, pest, and disease management (including fungicide and MOA-based rotations).
Biological control measures and stage-wise spray schedules.
Harvest, post-harvest practices, safety, and PHI guidelines.
3. Store Technical Support & Sales Enablement
Act as the in-house technical advisor and support the sales team with product recommendations.
Train store staff on product usage, dosage, MOA groups, and new molecules.
Assist in seasonal demand estimation and product planning.
4. Farmer Education & Reporting
Prepare POP charts, crop calendars, and pest identification posters in Kannada and English.
Conduct farmer meetings and store demonstrations.
Track pest/disease trends and provide feedback to management.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of agronomy, pests, diseases, IPM, MOA, and soil nutrition.
Excellent communication skills in Kannada.
Basic computer skills (Excel, Word).
