Key Roles and Responsibilities (Desirable)
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical expert responsible for the entire lifecycle of our protected cultivation infrastructure.
I. Project Management & Construction (Design & Installation)
Design and Planning:
Collaborate with agronomists to design technologically advanced polyhouse/greenhouse structures (e.g., naturally ventilated, fan-and-pad systems) tailored to specific crop and climatic needs.
Infrastructure Oversight:
Manage the installation of key systems, including:
Climate Control:
Exhaust fans, cooling pads, heating units, and automated roof/side vents.
Irrigation & Fertigation:
Design and implement precise drip irrigation and nutrient delivery systems.
Support Structures:
Ensuring structural integrity, foundation, and proper covering/cladding material (UV-stabilized polyethylene films).
Vendor Management:
Source, evaluate, and manage contractors and suppliers for construction materials and advanced farm equipment.
II. Operations & Maintenance (System Optimization)
Preventive Maintenance (Mandatory):
Develop and execute a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for all polyhouse and farm systems (structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing).
Troubleshooting & Repair:
Promptly diagnose and repair failures in critical systems, particularly automated environmental controls and fertigation units, to minimize crop loss.
Efficiency Improvement:
Monitor and analyze system performance metrics (e.g., Water Use Efficiency, Energy Consumption) and implement engineering modifications to enhance operational efficiency.
III. Technology & Compliance
Automation:
Integrate and manage sophisticated farm automation systems, sensors, and data loggers for environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, CO2?).
Quality Assurance:
Ensure all construction and maintenance work adheres to National Horticulture Board (NHB) and local agricultural engineering standards.
