Source and procure solar project materials including modules, inverters, structures, electrical items, cables, BOS components, tools, and consumables.
Evaluate vendor quotations, negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
Ensure procurement is aligned with project BOQ and technical specifications.
Maintain and update approved vendor lists specific to solar industry materials.
2. Vendor Coordination & Management
Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery and quality compliance.
Conduct periodic vendor performance evaluation (quality, delivery, pricing).
Resolve issues related to damaged material, shortages, or non-compliance.
Manage AMC/service vendors for tools, machinery, and site support materials.
3. Inventory & Warehouse Management
Track stock levels across site stores and central warehouse.
Monitor inward/outward material movements and maintain documentation (MRN/GRN).
Coordinate with site storekeepers for daily consumption entries and material planning.
Conduct physical stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
4. Logistics & Site Material Movement
Coordinate transport for heavy materials (modules, structures, DG sets, transformers).
Ensure planning for vehicle placement, route optimization, and cost control.
Verify logistics documentation: e-way bills, delivery challans, transporter invoices.
Track real-time movement of materials between warehouse, vendors, and project sites.
5. Project Coordination
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, QA/QC, and Operations to understand material requirements.
Create project-specific material delivery schedules and follow up with vendors.
Identify risks of material shortages and escalate proactively.
Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid project delays.
6. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain procurement records, POs, contracts, vendor documents, and inventory files.
Ensure compliance with GH2 Solar procurement policy and statutory regulations.
Prepare MIS reports such as PR/PO status, inventory reports, delivery schedules, and vendor payment tracking.
7. Cost Optimization
Compare market rates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Avoid excess procurement and ensure optimal inventory levels.
Work on alternative sourcing for critical or long lead-time items

Preferred candidate profile
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field
MBA in Operations/Supply Chain (preferred)
5-7 years of experience in SCM, preferably in solar EPC or renewable energy projects
