Role Overview
We are seeking an Aerospace Engineer with hands-on experience in composite materials and structures. The ideal candidate will support the design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing of composite components for aerospace applications, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop composite structures and components for aerospace systems.
Perform structural analysis (FEA) for composite parts, including stress, fatigue, and failure analysis.
Support material selection, lay-up design, and optimization of composite laminates.
Work with manufacturing teams on composite fabrication processes such as hand lay-up, autoclave curing, resin transfer molding (RTM), and filament winding.
Create technical drawings, 3D models, and documentation using CAD tools.
Conduct testing and validation of composite materials and components.
Troubleshoot design or manufacturing issues related to composite structures.
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as AS9100, ASTM, and NADCAP requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality engineers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
2-3 years of experience working with composite materials in aerospace or relevant sectors.
Strong understanding of composite material behavior, laminate theory, and failure modes.
Experience with composite design tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, FiberSIM).
Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar).
Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and quality standards.
Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automated composite manufacturing (AFP/ATL).
Knowledge of material characterization and testing techniques.
Exposure to aircraft structures, UAVs, or space hardware is a plus.
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work under deadlines.
