Section 2 | Purpose of the Role
The Advocacy and VM Coordinator will oversee the programmatic and financial management of the UNICEF-supported initiative to strengthen family-based alternative care and aftercare in Madhya Pradesh. The role involves advocacy, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and coordination of vulnerability mapping (VM) at the district level.
Advocate for the effective implementation of the VM process in collaboration with government departments and key stakeholders.
Develop policy briefs, presentations, and reports to support evidence-based advocacy on vulnerability-related issues.
Foster partnerships to integrate VM findings into district-level planning and action.
Vulnerability Mapping & Data Management
Lead the planning, execution, and coordination of the VM process at the district level.
Maintain detailed records of assessments, ensuring accurate data collection, entry, and analysis.
Utilize standardized tools for data management and generate insights to inform decision-making.
Disseminate findings to support programmatic and policy interventions.
Capacity Building & Technical Support
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to district-level officers throughout the VM process.
Organize trainings and workshops for government officials, partner organizations, and field teams.
Stay abreast of global and national best practices in vulnerability mapping and advocacy.
Participate in professional development forums, training programs, and knowledge-sharing events.
Other Responsibilities
Fulfill any additional tasks assigned by the Managing Trustee, Executive Director, A.R.T. Director, or Assistant Director.
Be open to travel and weekend work as required.
Section 4 | Experience, Qualifications, and SkillsExperience
Minimum 5 years of experience in national or multi-state NGOs, preferably in child rights, youth skilling, and alternative care programs.
Strong understanding of child protection laws and national/state government schemes.
Education
Master's degree in Social Sciences from a recognized institution.
Skills
Proven ability to engage with government stakeholders and advocate effectively.
Proficient in data management, analysis, and visualization tools relevant to VM.
Excellent written and verbal communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
Strong project management capabilities at both district and state levels.
Experience in facilitating capacity-building initiatives.
