Position Overview
Applies the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of software and computer systems. Works cross-functionally to understand business requirements, evaluate alternative approaches and ensure software and systems are designed to facilitate accessibility and ease of use. Incorporates state-of-the-art concepts and practices to facilitate system functionality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides Software Engineering for moderately complex software systems and applications.
- Designs, develops, tests and documents moderately complex software systems and applications.
- Estimates complex software development tasks to within predictable variances, given specified functional and business requirements.
- Assists with the creation, development, implementation and monitoring of solution delivery plans.
- Presents system alterations and designs to peers and colleagues.
- Helps define and support coding standards.
- Works with QA leads to ensure quality and performance adherence to specifications for overall release.
- Provides Q&A and peer review for fellow developers.
- Breaks down large-scale functional and business requirements into single or multiple projects suitable for high-level estimation.
- Identifies tasks for automation and works with appropriate teams to develop end products that generate greater efficiency.
