Roles & responsibilities:

  • Design and develop data pipelines and solutions for reporting and analytics with moderate guidance.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining ETL processes and data workflows, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and fix issues in data systems; participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor the performance of databases and data pipelines, suggesting basic optimizations.
  • Ensure data quality by performing validation, cleansing, and consistency checks.
  • Support patching and updates to keep applications and data platforms secure and up to date.
  • Participate in integrating new platforms or tools into existing environments and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile practices (sprints, standups, retrospectives).
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members on basic tasks and share knowledge within the team.
Experience Required:
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • Good understanding of data structures, databases, and programming fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Java, or Scala).
  • Practical experience working with SQL/PL-SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).
  • Exposure to data modeling, ETL concepts, and data warehousing solutions (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Data Lake).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure for running and supporting data workloads.
  • Experience using version control tools (e.g., Git) in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently, while also contributing as part of a team.

  • Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Cloud-Based Big Data Systems: Proficiency in working with cloud-native data warehouses and analytics platforms like BigQuery, Snowflake
  • ETL Frameworks: Experience with modern ETL tools and frameworks including Google Cloud Dataflow/Azure Data Factory (ADF)/Informatica
  • Data Processing: Strong skills in SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
