Adobe InDesign Expert

to elevate our design and production capabilities. This role demands more than just proficiency; we're looking for a true master of InDesign who can leverage its full suite of tools to tackle diverse projects, optimize workflows, and consistently deliver exceptional results for both print and digital mediums. Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Document Creation:

Conceptualize, design, and execute a wide array of complex documents from scratch, including but not limited to: books, magazines, catalogs, annual reports, interactive PDFs, brochures, marketing collateral, and digital publications (ePUBs, Publish Online).

Mastery of Layout & Typography:

Apply advanced knowledge of grids, guides, master pages, styles (paragraph, character, object, table, cell), and OpenType features to create aesthetically pleasing, highly organized, and typographically superior layouts.

Workflow Optimization & Automation:

Implement and manage efficient InDesign workflows, including extensive use of Data Merge, XML/IDML integration, GREP styles, and scripting (if applicable), to streamline production and reduce manual effort.

Print & Digital Production Readiness:

Expertly prepare files for various print processes (preflight, color management, bleeds, marks, trapping) and optimize documents for diverse digital platforms, ensuring accessibility and responsiveness.

Complex Content Integration:

Seamlessly integrate and manage high volumes of text, complex tables, intricate graphics (from Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), and multimedia elements, ensuring perfect alignment and resolution.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:

Proactively identify and resolve complex InDesign-related issues, including file corruption, font conflicts, linking problems, and print/export errors, providing expert solutions.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct rigorous preflight checks and ensure absolute accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines and project specifications for all deliverables.

Collaboration & Mentorship:

Work closely with cross-functional teams (editors, copywriters, photographers, developers) and potentially offer guidance or training to less experienced team members on InDesign best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Demonstrable Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign (5+ years of dedicated professional experience preferred).

Comprehensive understanding and practical application of ALL InDesign tools and features

, including advanced layout, typography, styles, master pages, scripting (desirable), Data Merge, Book features, and preflight. Proven ability to design and produce a wide range of print and digital documents, showcasing versatility and adaptability. Deep knowledge of print production processes, color theory, and file optimization for various output methods. Strong understanding of interactive PDF creation, EPUB export, and "Publish Online" capabilities. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and a critical eye for design aesthetics and typographic hierarchy. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality. Proficiency in other Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro) for asset preparation and integration. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. A robust portfolio showcasing diverse projects created primarily in Adobe InDesign.
