Job Description

The Admissions Officer is responsible for managing the end-to-end admissions process for prospective students, from initial inquiry through to enrolment. This role acts as a primary liaison, guiding applicants and their families, evaluating credentials, and supporting the institution's overall recruitment and enrollment goals.

Key Responsibilities

Application Management and Evaluation

Review and Evaluate Applications:

Process and meticulously evaluate all student applications, including academic transcripts, standardized test scores, essays, and letters of recommendation, to determine admissibility based on institutional criteria.

Decision Making:

Make recommendations or final decisions on applicant admissions in accordance with established policies, ensuring fairness and consistency.

Data Maintenance:

Maintain accurate and confidential records of all applicant communications and information within the Admissions database or

CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

system.

Compliance:

Ensure all admissions processes comply with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., FERPA, UCAS, or other higher education guidelines).
Recruitment and Outreach

Prospective Student Advising:

Serve as the initial and ongoing point of contact for prospective students and their families, providing detailed and accurate information about programs, admission requirements, financial aid, and application procedures.

Recruitment Events:

Represent the institution at recruitment events, such as

Open Houses

,

College Fairs

, and information sessions, both on and off-campus.

Tours and Interviews:

Coordinate and conduct campus tours and interviews with applicants to assess their fit and provide a personalized experience.

Conversion Activities:

Assist in strategies to "convert" admitted students into enrolled students, which may include targeted communication and follow-up.
Administrative and Coordination Duties

Correspondence:

Proactively manage a high volume of inquiries via email, phone, and in-person meetings, providing timely and professional responses.

Reporting:

Generate and analyse reports on admissions data, trends, and outcomes to inform recruitment strategies and goal setting.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

Liaise with other departments--such as Marketing, Financial Aid, Academic Deans, and Registration--to ensure a seamless transition for applicants throughout the process.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Education and Experience

Education:

Typically requires a

Bachelor's degree

in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Business, Communications, or Marketing). A Master's degree may be preferred for senior roles.

Experience:

Previous professional experience in admissions, student recruitment, academic advising, or a related higher education environment is usually required.
Essential Skills

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders (students, parents, staff).

Organizational & Detail-Oriented:

Strong organizational, time management, and meticulous

attention to detail

to handle a large volume of applications and complex records.

Customer Service:

A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and a welcoming, supportive experience for all applicants.

Technical Proficiency:

Competence in using

CRM systems

(like Slate or Salesforce), student information systems, and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Analytical and Decision-Making:

Ability to analyse data to identify trends and make fair, informed, and objective decisions.

Pay: ₹12,473.59 - ₹40,151.64 per month
