The Admission Counsellor is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process, providing accurate information about academic programs, and ensuring a positive enrolment experience. The role involves counselling students and parents, processing applications, and supporting institutional enrolment goals.
Key Responsibilities
Counsel prospective students and parents on academic programs, admission requirements, eligibility, and career pathways
Respond to inquiries via phone, email, social media, and in-person meetings
Assist applicants with application forms, documentation, and admission procedures
Conduct campus tours, information sessions, and admission presentations
Follow up with prospective students to convert leads into enrolments
Maintain accurate student records and update admission databases/CRM systems
Coordinate with academic departments, finance, and administration teams
Participate in education fairs, school visits, and marketing events
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and admission regulations
Prepare admission reports and track enrolment targets
Required Qualifications & Skills
12th and above or a related field
Proven experience in admissions, counselling, sales, or student services (preferred)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counselling skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/admission software
Goal-oriented with the ability to meet enrolment targets
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of academic programs and education systems
Experience in student recruitment or educational sales
Multilingual abilities (an advantage)
