Job Description

An admissions counselor guides prospective students through the application and enrollment process for educational institutions. (6months - 3 years )

Student guidance:

Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and their families. Provide detailed and accurate information about programs, curriculum, admission requirements, costs, and financial aid opportunities.

Recruitment and outreach:

Participate in and organize recruitment activities such as on-campus events, campus tours, college fairs, information sessions, and school visits.

Application processing:

Assist students with completing application forms and collecting necessary documents. In some cases, admissions counselors are involved in the evaluation and review of applications.

Communication:

Conduct follow-up communication with prospective students and families via phone, email, and in-person meetings.

Record keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all applicant interactions, communications, and application statuses using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other admissions staff, marketing teams, and academic departments to meet enrollment goals and refine recruitment strategies.

Qualifications and skills



Education:

A bachelor's degree in education, counseling, marketing, or a related field is typically required, though experience may substitute for entry-level roles.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for explaining complex procedures and building rapport with diverse populations.

Interpersonal skills:

The ability to engage effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating empathy and a customer-service orientation.

Organizational skills:

Strong time management and organizational abilities are crucial for managing multiple student files and deadlines, especially during peak admissions seasons.

Technical skills:

Proficiency with MS Office and CRM software is often required for managing data and tracking progress.

Self-motivation:

An ability to work independently to achieve enrollment targets while also being a collaborative team player.

Flexibility:

The willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel for recruitment events
