Overview

The Admission Counselor plays a vital role in the recruitment and enrollment process at our institution. This position is responsible for engaging with prospective students, guiding them through the admission process, and promoting the benefits of our educational programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a strong ability to connect with students and their families, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout their journey.

Duties

Conduct presentations and information sessions to prospective students and their families, showcasing the institution's programs and campus life. Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract a diverse student population. Evaluate applications and provide academic advising to prospective students regarding admission requirements, program options, and financial aid opportunities. Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the recruitment process and ensure alignment with institutional goals. Utilize Ellucian software for managing student data and tracking admissions progress. Participate in college fairs, community events, and outreach initiatives to promote the institution's offerings. Maintain ongoing communication with prospective students through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings to answer questions and provide guidance.

Requirements

Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively. Experience working in education administration or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with recruiting practices and strategies for attracting prospective students. Previous experience working with students in an academic setting is highly desirable. University experience or teaching background is a plus, providing insight into student needs and expectations. Knowledge of academic advising principles to assist students in making informed decisions about their education. Excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service throughout the admissions process.
