Role Overview
The Academic Counsellor will be the first point of contact for prospective students and their families, guiding them through the admissions journey at Dayananda Sagar University. The role involves providing accurate academic information, counselling students on program choices, assisting with the admissions process, and ensuring a positive student experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, counselling, and problem-solving skills with prior experience in student support or admissions.
Key Responsibilities
Student Counselling & Admissions
Counsel prospective students and parents on academic programs, admission requirements, and career pathways.
Handle inquiries through calls, emails, walk-ins, and online platforms, ensuring timely follow-ups.
Guide students through the application process, documentation, and enrollment formalities.
Convert inquiries into successful admissions in line with enrollment targets.
Outreach & Relationship Management
Participate in education fairs, seminars, school visits, and university events to engage prospective students.
Build positive relationships with students, parents, and external stakeholders.
Promote DSU's brand and academic strengths in assigned regions.
Support & Coordination
Maintain accurate student records in CRM/ERP systems.
Provide regular updates and reports to reporting managers.
Collaborate with admissions, marketing, and academic teams to deliver seamless student experiences.
Key Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong counselling, persuasion, and relationship-building abilities.
Good knowledge of higher education programs and admission processes.
Proficiency in MS Office, CRM/ERP tools, and digital communication platforms.
Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
Positive attitude, patience, and student-centric approach.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor's Degree (Master's/MBA in Education/Management preferred).
Minimum
3+ years of experience
in student counselling, admissions, or academic advisory roles.
Experience in higher education institutions will be an added advantage.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
