Job Summary:
The Admission Counsellor is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process by providing accurate information about academic programs, eligibility, application procedures, and financial aid. The role involves handling student inquiries, conducting interviews or counseling sessions, and helping ensure enrollment targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students and parents via phone, email, chat, and in-person meetings.
Counsel students regarding courses, eligibility, career prospects, and admission procedures.
Manage inquiries, follow-ups, and conversion of leads into enrollments.
Conduct one-on-one and group information sessions, webinars, and campus tours.
Assist applicants throughout the admissions process including application submission, documentation, and fee payment.
Maintain and update student records in the CRM or admission software.
Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams for admission campaigns and events.
Support admission-related events such as open houses, education fairs, and school visits.
Provide timely updates to prospective students regarding deadlines, documents, and status.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports on inquiries, follow-ups, and conversions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Education, Marketing, or Counseling preferred).
1-3 years of experience in student counseling, admissions, or sales (preferred).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to handle pressure during peak admission cycles.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of the education sector, course offerings, and career paths.
Multilingual ability (if applicable).
Familiarity with online admission platforms and digital marketing tools.
