The Admission Counsellor will be the primary point of contact for prospective parents, handling queries, nurturing leads, and converting enquiries into confirmed admissions for Divine Touch School, Waltair Uplands/Ram Nagar, Visakhapatnam. The role requires a mix of relationship management, and communication skills aligned with the school's Montessori and value?based, Vedic?inspired educational philosophy.
Key responsibilities
Handle all admission enquiries received via phone, WhatsApp, walk?ins, social media campaigns, and referral channels and maintain an updated enquiry and follow?up tracker.
Proactively follow up with leads, explain school programs (pre?school to primary/elementary as applicable), fee structure, and unique features such as Montessori methods, yoga, moral science, and value?based education.
Plan and conduct campus visits, school tours, and counselling sessions for parents, addressing academic, co?curricular, transport, and fee?related questions with clarity and empathy.
Work closely with school leadership/office to track seat availability, admissions status, and documentation; ensure smooth completion of application forms, fee payment, and onboarding formalities.
Coordinate with marketing or external partners running "Admissions Open" campaigns (offline and online) to ensure timely response to incoming enquiries and high conversion from enquiry to admission.
Maintain daily/weekly on leads, follow?ups, conversions, and reasons for drop?off, and suggest improvements in communication scripts, FAQs, and processes to enhance conversion rates.
Represent the school professionally during events, parent sessions, and outreach activities while consistently reflecting the school's ethos of blending modern education with Indian cultural and spiritual values.
Required skills and experience
Graduation in any discipline; a PG in education management, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory for a strong performer in admissions counselling.
Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in school admissions, counselling, or education sales (preferably in K?12 or pre?school segment) with demonstrable success in converting leads to admissions.
Strong communication skills in English, Telugu, and Hindi, with the ability to build trust with parents from diverse backgrounds in Visakhapatnam.
Solid understanding of the admissions funnel (enquiry-follow?up-visit-trial class if any-offer-fee payment-joining) and comfort with using basic CRM/Excel/Google Sheets or school ERP for tracking leads and follow?ups.
Ability to explain and position value?based, holistic education (yoga, moral science, extra?curricular activities) as a differentiator against other schools in the Vizag market
