The Admission Counsellor plays a crucial role in guiding students towards the right software training programs based on their background, interests, and career aspirations. The counsellor is responsible for converting inquiries into enrolments through effective communication, understanding of course offerings, and career path alignment. Additionally, they play a key role in helping students understand the placement support provided by the institute.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Conversion:
Handle walk-ins, phone inquiries, WhatsApp leads, and online form submissions.
Follow up with leads through calls, messages, and emails to convert them into confirmed admissions.
Student Counseling:
Provide accurate and updated information about software training programs such as Full Stack Development, Data Science, Java, Python, Testing, etc.
Identify the student's interests, skill gaps, and career goals to suggest suitable courses.
Address queries related to course curriculum, duration, fees, certifications, and placement assistance.
Admission Process Management:
Explain the admission procedure and assist in completing documentation and fee collection.
Maintain records of student details, fee status, and course selections using CRM or internal tools.
Placement Support Communication:
Educate students on the institute's placement process, companies tied up, success stories, and interview preparation support.
Reporting & Feedback:
Maintain daily/weekly reports of leads, follow-ups, walk-ins, and conversions.
Share feedback from students and market trends with the marketing and academic teams.
Coordination:
Work closely with the academic and placement teams to stay updated on batch schedules, trainer profiles, and placement drives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (any discipline); education or counseling background preferred.
1-3 years of experience in counseling/admissions/sales roles (edtech or training sector is a plus).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (English, Hindi, and regional language).
Persuasive and empathetic approach with strong listening skills.
Familiarity with software courses and IT career paths is a strong advantage.
Basic knowledge of CRM tools, MS Office, and email communication.
