Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced

Accounts Payable Team Lead (AP-TL)

to manage the complete AP function with a primary focus on carrier payments, factoring companies, reconciliations, and team oversight. This role requires someone with strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and deep knowledge of US-based AP practices in the logistics or freight forwarding domain.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Operations:

Oversee the end-to-end AP cycle including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor/carrier reconciliation. Manage timely disbursement of payments to carriers and factoring companies.

Carrier & Factoring Management:

Maintain relationships with US-based carriers and factoring companies. Resolve payment disputes, discrepancies, and inquiries efficiently.

Reporting & Reconciliation:

Monitor and report on AP Aging, pending payments, and exceptions. Perform ledger, bank, and vendor reconciliations regularly. Generate and share MIS reports weekly/monthly with management.

Leadership & Team Supervision:

Lead and supervise the AP team, ensure workload is distributed and SLAs are met. Conduct regular team training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

System & Process Optimization:

Utilize ERP and TMS systems effectively (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, PCS). Implement automation and process improvements where possible. Ensure adherence to internal controls, compliance standards, and audit readiness.

Required Skills & Tools:

Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) Proficiency with ERP & TMS systems (QuickBooks, SAP, OTM, PCS, etc.) Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to work independently in US shift timings

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com/BBA) - Mandatory Master's Degree preferred (M.Com/MBA)

Experience:

5-8 years of total experience in Accounts Payable Minimum 2-3 years in a leadership/supervisory AP role Experience in US-based logistics or freight industry is a strong plus Exposure to high-volume carrier payments and factoring processes is essential
