Job Description


SUMMARY

The Accounts Officer/Senior Accounts Officer will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting, book-keeping, and assisting in all finance and account functions. This position is based out of New Delhi.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting and Finance:
  • Checking and verifying all expenses with their supporting documents.
  • Day to day data entry in Zoho accounting software.
  • Reviewing and checking payment vouchers, preparation of payments requests for bank transfers.
  • Closing of monthly books of accounts on timely manner and preparing various financial statements.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations, balance sheet, profit and loss and other various financial reports.
  • Payroll processing and ensuring correct allocation.
  • Maintaining books of accounts of FCRA and Section 8 Company.
  • Ensuring of timely vendor reconciliations.
  • Coordination with other team members for sorting staff reimbursements and vendor related queries.
  • Monitoring cash flow status and ensuring adequate funds availability for smooth running of operations.
  • Filing and maintaining records, vouchers and other supporting documentations.
  • Coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders on day to day matters.
  • Coordination with other team members for sorting staff reimbursements and vendor related queries. Analysing and preparing various financial and analytical reports for management consumption.
  • Provide support in office inventory and asset management.
  • Assist in periodic inventory verification and record management.
  • Conducting due diligence of partner organizations and preparing internal analysis report for further recommendation.
  • Liaison with US office for vendor and partner payments.
  • Providing support in reconciliation of Indian books with US books.
  • Coordinating with project team members on various activities needed for smooth functioning.
Statutory Compliances:
  • Monthly statutory payments (PF, PT, TDS).
  • Quarterly filing of TDS returns
  • Ensuring monthly GST return compliances and its filing
  • Liaison with bank for NEFT/RTGS remittances.
  • Preparation and assistance in 15 CA and CB forms.
  • Responsible for monthly and yearly statutory compliances as required and filing of TDS and FCRA returns.
  • Ensuring regular financial statement compliance in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards.
  • Providing support in Income Tax assessment proceedings.
  • Ensuring FCRA, RBI, Income Tax and donor stipulated compliance and other regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring all measure comply with government regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting and providing assistants in statutory, tax, internal and various donor audits.
  • Coordinating with tax consultants on various statutory requirements.
  • Ensuring Section 8 company related statutory and regulatory compliances.
  • Preparation of 80G receipts for donation received.
  • Providing support in structuring of various entities (section 8, Trust, PLC) as per applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Microsoft office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Detail-oriented and rigorous in approach to tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong excel skills with ability to create various analytical reports
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
  • Flexible work style and ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Strong interpersonal, coordination and team skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and willingness to work flexibly on a wide range of tasks.
  • Willing to travel as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • CA/CA Inter/ICWA.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of desired experience on above mentioned roles and responsibilities
  • Zoho books experience would be preferred. Working knowledge of other Accounting Software would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge and creativity in preparing/developing various MIS reports, analytical and tracking reports for various internal purposes.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of handling accounting, statutory compliances, taxation, donor-related compliances, day to day financial and administration functions and monthly closing-related necessities.
  • Experience working in INGOs/iNGOs would be preferred.
