The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with applicable regulations, and timely reporting. This role involves managing a team of accountants, preparing financial statements, coordinating audits, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Roles and Responsibility
Supervise and manage the accounting team, ensuring effective performance and development.
Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets.
Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and business opportunities.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
Liaise with external vendors, auditors, tax consultants, and other stakeholders.
Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's or CPA/CA preferred).
Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, Oracle) and MS Excel.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
