Job Summary:
The Accounts Manager will oversee all aspects of the company's financial management, with a specific focus on accounting related to product import operations. This role involves ensuring compliance with international trade laws and customs regulations, managing a team, and contributing to strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
>Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
>Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and Management Information Systems (MIS) reports.
>Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring the finalization of balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
>Disbursing Salaries and Payments to the Vendors
>Managing Statutory Compliances with regards to the Company and the Employees
Import/Export & Compliance:
>Handle all documentation related to import-export operations, including Letters of Credit (LC), shipping documents, and customs clearance paperwork.
>Ensure strict compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
>Process foreign remittances for the import of materials and services and handle online submissions of necessary forms (e.g., Form 15CA, CB).
>Coordinate with logistics, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure smooth shipments and resolve payment issues with international customers.
>Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely and efficient delivery, aligning activities with business objectives.
Taxation & Auditing:
>Manage the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), and payroll tax.
>Coordinate with internal and external auditors and tax consultants during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Team Leadership & Strategy:
>Lead and mentor a team of accountants, managing their performance and development.
>Develop and implement financial strategies and policies, identifying areas for financial improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Accounts Manager or Accounting Manager (minimum 7-10 years).
Specific experience in import purchases and export sales processing is mandatory.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, international trade laws, and customs regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, QuickBooks) and strong MS Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and good communication skills.
