Objective
To provide a
one-stop, end-to-end financial and compliance solution
for BhartAgroLink, encompassing bookkeeping, financial reporting, taxation, legal compliance, payroll, vendor/customer finance ops, and investor readiness. This partner or role is responsible for building a strong financial foundation aligned with the company's growth and regulatory obligations.
Scope of Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate, real-time books of accounts in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
Record daily transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, payments, receivables).
Manage inventory accounting and cost allocation.Ensure timely bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
Implement and maintain accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
2. Financial Reporting & MIS
Prepare periodic financial statements:
Profit & Loss Account
Balance Sheet
Cash Flow Statement
Deliver monthly/quarterly MIS reports to management.
Set up dashboards and financial KPIs to track performance.
Support cost center accounting and financial analysis.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
Develop annual and quarterly financial budgets.
Provide rolling cash flow forecasts and fund requirement projections.
Conduct burn rate and runway analysis.
Support ROI tracking across marketing, inventory, and operational functions.
4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
File monthly/quarterly GST returns and manage input tax credit.
Deduct, deposit, and file TDS returns .
File income tax returns for the company and assist directors, if applicable.
Coordinate all statutory, internal, and tax audits.
Maintain records and compliance under Shop & Establishment, FSSAI, and other applicable registrations.
5. ROC & MCA Regulatory Compliance
Handle all company law compliance including:
Annual return filing
Director KYC
Board resolutions and AGM minutes
Ensure full compliance under Companies Act, 2013.
Liaise with CA/CS/legal partners to ensure timely filings and regulatory accuracy.
6. Vendor & Customer Finance Operations
Automate invoicing, manage credit/debit notes, and payment follow-ups.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable cycles.
Reconcile customer/vendor ledgers and payments.
Support integration of finance with order management systems and sales ops.
7. Payroll & Employee Compliance (If Applicable)
Process monthly payroll including salaries, reimbursements, and advances.
Manage statutory payroll compliances - PF, ESIC, PT.
File related returns and ensure labour law adherence.
8. Investor Readiness & Financial Due Diligence
Prepare investor-ready financial reports and documents.
Support due diligence during fundraising and maintain clean cap tables.
Provide all financial data and audit support to external investors or VCs.
9. Revenue Model & Commission Structure Development
Analyze category margins, customer behavior, vendor costs, and platform economics.
Propose and define revenue streams

Product sales commissions (by category/vendor)
Vendor subscription fees
Fulfilment and logistics fees
Ad placements / featured listings
Fintech revenue (e.g., financing, insurance, input credit)
Build the
commission matrix
: define commission % per category or service.
Benchmark with industry leaders and adapt to market conditions.
Recommend
pricing strategy
and discount policies for margin protection.
Ensure legal and tax compliance of all models implemented.
Track unit economics and improve contribution margins over time.
