Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing critical accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger reconciliation, and complex reconciliation of post-sales discounts and distributor claims. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience and strong analytical skills.

Experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities



The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for the following areas:

Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR):

Oversee and manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.

Monitor and manage the aging of AR, following up on outstanding balances and resolving discrepancies.

General Ledger (GL) Reconciliation:

Perform detailed and timely reconciliation of various general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.

Investigate and resolve any variances or discrepancies identified during the reconciliation process.

Post-Sales Discount & Distributor Claims Reconciliation:

Crucial Responsibility: Manage the complex reconciliation of post-sales discounts (e.g., trade promotions, schemes, volume rebates) against claims submitted by distributors.

Analyze and validate claim submissions, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and internal policies.

Work closely with Sales and Commercial teams to align on claims accruals, provisions, and settlements.

Reporting & Compliance:

Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

Prepare and analyze financial reports related to AP, AR, and claim reconciliations for management review.

Ensure all financial transactions comply with local regulations and company policies.

Qualifications and Requirements



Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger Reconciliation.

Specialized Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience in the reconciliation of post-sales discounts, trade schemes, and claims submitted by distributors is mandatory.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., MBA, CA/CMA Inter, is plus)

Industry: Prior experience in the FMCG sector is highly preferred.

Skills:



High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for internal and external stakeholders.

Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
