We pride ourselves on local trust, timely service and clean, well-maintained accounts. We are hiring an experienced, hands-on accountant to manage day-to-day accounting and statutory compliance.
Key responsibilities
Maintain day-to-day books of accounts (sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journals) and update ledgers.
Prepare and process monthly payroll for staff: salary calculations, deductions, payslips, leave/attendance reconciliation.
Prepare and file statutory returns on time:
: Monthly contributions, return filings, employer/employee reconciliations, remittances.
Bank reconciliation, cash & POS reconciliation (daily sales vs POS / billing).
Petty cash management and reimbursements.
Vendor & supplier reconciliation, prepare aging and timely payments.
Prepare monthly/month-end and annual MIS: P&L summary, balance sheet drafts, cash flow highlights.
Prepare all documents and schedules required by external auditor / tax consultant for Income-Tax return & statutory audit.
Assist in statutory/financial audits and GST/TDS/ESI/PF audits -- provide supporting schedules and explanations.
Inventory accounting support: coordinate with store manager for stock statements, stock adjustments and periodic stock audits.
Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs and statutory timelines; flag risks/shortfalls to management.
Coordinate with bank / government portals / consultants for registrations, notices or clarifications.
Improve and document accounting procedures (SOPs) and help implement better controls (e.g., vendor approval, POS reconciliation).
Ad hoc finance support: budgeting inputs, cost controls, pricing support and any other tasks assigned by management.
Required qualifications & skills
Minimum
5 years
of relevant experience -- preferably in supermarket/retail or FMCG outlet accounting.
Commerce graduate (B.Com) / Diploma in Accounting / Inter CA or similar qualification preferred.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with
GST returns

, payroll processing and preparing documents for IT filing.
Proficient in
Tally / Busy / Zoho Books / QuickBooks
(please mention which), and advanced
MS Excel
skills (vlookups, pivot, formulas).
Experience reconciling POS / billing systems with accounting ledgers.
Good communication -- able to coordinate with auditors, vendors and senior management.
High accuracy, organisation skills and ability to meet statutory deadlines.
