The Accounts cum Operations Manager - Construction Projects is responsible for managing
site-level accounting, billing, cost control, and operational coordination
for construction projects. The role acts as a bridge between
site engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and management
, ensuring smooth financial control, timely billing, statutory compliance, and efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Accounts & Finance
Maintain
site-wise and project-wise accounts
Track
daily expenses, petty cash, site advances, and reimbursements
Monitor
cash flow requirements for sites
and plan fund allocation
Ensure proper documentation for
all site expenditures
Coordinate with HO accounts for
monthly closing and reporting
2. Billing & Project Cost Control
Prepare and verify
Running Account (RA) bills and final bills
as per BOQ
Track
client billing milestones and payment schedules
Monitor
project budgets, cost vs estimate, and profitability
Control
material consumption, labour costs, and subcontractor payments
Identify cost overruns and report deviations to managemenT
3. Vendor, Subcontractor & Labour Management
Verify
vendor and subcontractor bills
based on measurements and work completion
Track
labour attendance, wages, and productivity
Ensure timely payments to vendors and subcontractors to avoid site disruptions
Maintain
work orders, agreements, and payment terms
4. Procurement, Stores & Inventory Control
Coordinate with site engineers for
material indents and procurement
Track
material inward, consumption, returns, and closing stock
Maintain
site store records and stock reconciliation
Prevent material wastage, pilferage, and over-ordering
5. Statutory & Compliance (Construction-Specific)
Ensure
GST compliance
for construction billing and input credit
Manage
TDS on contractors, vendors, and professionals
Maintain records related to
labour laws
, if applicable
Coordinate with CA for audits and statutory filings
6. Site Operations & Coordination
Act as the
single point of coordination
between site, HO, and management
Track
project schedules, manpower deployment, and resource planning
Support site team in resolving
payment, procurement, and documentation issues
Assist management with
project progress and financial status updates
7. Reporting & MIS
Prepare
site-wise MIS reports
including:
Cost vs Budget
Billing vs Collection
Material consumption
Vendor outstanding
Submit
weekly and monthly reports
to management
8. Labour Management & Workforce Control
Maintain
labour strength records
(trade-wise and site-wise)
Track
labour attendance, productivity, overtime, and wages
Control
labour costs
as per approved budget and project norms
Ensure availability of
skilled and unskilled labour
as per work schedule
Coordinate with site engineers to
forecast labour requirements
in advance
9. Labour Bank Creation & Rapid Replacement
Develop and maintain a
Labour Bank
consisting of:
Skilled workers (masons, carpenters, welders, fitters, electricians, painters, etc.)
Semi-skilled and unskilled labour
Maintain
contact details, trade skills, wage rates, and availability status
Ensure
quick replacement of absentee or exited labour
with minimal downtime
Build relationships with
labour suppliers, supervisors, and subcontract gangs
Standardize
onboarding process
for replacement labour (ID, wage rate, reporting)
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of
construction accounting and project costing
Hands-on experience with
BOQ-based billing and RA bills
Knowledge of
GST & TDS applicable to construction projects
Proficiency in
Tally, Excel, and construction ERP (if any)
Ability to work closely with
site engineers and project managers
Strong follow-up, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
B.Com / M.Com / Degree in Finance or Accounting
CA-Inter / CMA-Inter (preferred)
5-10 years' experience
in construction or engineering projects
Reporting To
Managing Director

Timely preparation of RA bills and collections
Site cost control and budget adherence
Accuracy of site accounts and documentation
Zero statutory penalties
Smooth site operations with minimal delays due to finance issues
Zero work stoppage due to labour shortage
Timely replacement of labour from labour bank
Labour cost control within approved budget
Accurate labour billing and wage processing
Smooth site operations with minimal downtime

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
