Job Description

The Accountant-cum-Cashier at our Samsung retail outlet is a pivotal role, responsible for accurate financial transaction processing, meticulous record-keeping, and ensuring smooth billing operations. This position requires a blend of accounting expertise and efficient cash handling skills, while also providing excellent customer service in a retail environment. The candidate will ensure compliance with financial policies and contribute to the overall operational efficiency of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cashiering & Billing Operations: Process all sales transactions accurately using the POS (Point of Sale) system for Samsung products (mobiles, electronics, accessories). Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, UPI transactions, EMI schemes, and other payment methods efficiently and securely. Ensure correct billing, including applying discounts, schemes, and processing warranty/exchange documentation as per company and Samsung guidelines. Issue receipts, invoices, and other necessary documents to customers. Manage daily cash collection, prepare cash reports, and ensure timely bank deposits. Reconcile daily sales with cash and card collections, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.

2. Accounting & Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly accounting records for all store transactions. Prepare and post journal entries related to sales, purchases, expenses, and returns. Manage petty cash, ensuring proper documentation for all disbursements and reimbursements. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, for the retail outlet. Reconcile bank statements and maintain ledgers. Ensure all accounting entries comply with Indian accounting standards (e.g., GST regulations). Prepare and submit GST returns and other statutory compliance documents relevant to retail operations in India.
3. Inventory & Stock Management Support: Assist in maintaining accurate stock records by coordinating with the sales team for daily sales reconciliation. Support in periodic physical stock audits and reconciliation of inventory figures. Document and track product returns, exchanges, and damaged goods.
4. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure strict adherence to company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Prepare various financial reports for management, including sales summaries, expense reports, and collection reports. Liaise with auditors and provide necessary documentation during financial audits. Stay updated with relevant financial regulations and tax laws in India.

5. Customer Service: Provide clear and polite communication to customers regarding billing, payment options, and any financial queries. Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor while interacting with customers.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Accounting.

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in an accounting and cashiering role, preferably within a retail environment or consumer electronics showroom.
