Shree Gujarat State Women SEWA Cooperative Federation Limited

works as a

Women's Enterprise Support System (WESS) to support women's collective enterprises (WCEs), across sectors, enabling them to become viable, to innovate and to scale. Over 25+ years, we have promoted 100+ women's cooperatives, reaching 300,000 informal women workers.

Founded by Ela Bhatt in 1972, the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA) works to empower poor women in India's informal economy by equipping them with the personal confidence, community support, and practical tools necessary to fulfil their needs and exercise their rights. With over 2 million active members across 18 states, SEWA is a nationwide movement, comprising several autonomous sister organizations in various fields of expertise.

We are set apart by our ability to integrate state- and national-level strategies with grassroots values and priorities. Through our close ties to an extensive, diverse, and multigenerational network of members, we bring women together into a supportive network, tailor a wide range of large-scale development programs to specific community needs at the local level, and provide both capacity building support and national platform for women on the ground to voice their concerns and advocate for their rights at the highest levels of policy and industry. Through our philosophy of women's empowerment, and our vision of securing self-reliance and full employment for one of India's most vulnerable populations, we unify members across cultural, geographic, and linguistic lines to bring about sustainable, inclusive change from the ground up.

To achieve these goals, SEWA Cooperative Federation comprises of a team of experts, both for organizational guidance and for sector-specific knowledge in:

- Business development and strategy

- Marketing and PR

- Capacity building

- HR and Administration

- Research and advocacy

- Compliance to Regulations

Experience:



Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a related field. Experience in the Cooperative Sector or Informal Women's Collective Enterprises will be an advantage.

Eligibility:



1. Educational Background: B.Com/M.Com

2. Work Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounts (Tally Prime, Statuary compliance & MS-Office )

3. Analytical Skills: Past records of the Organisation, Profitability etc.

4. Communication Skills: Ability to write clearly and concisely both English & Gujarati. Also experience in creating reports, briefs, and presentations.

5. Teamwork & Initiative: Coordination with team & timely submission of financial Data.

6. Willingness for One day /overnight field travel for up to 1-2 days.

7. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, with different teams.

Non-Negotiable

:

a. Willing to work on full time basis with physical presence in office.

b. An interest in working and engaging with informal women workers and exploring women's cooperatives as a pathway for empowerment.

c. Excellent written and verbal communication in English & Gujarati.

d. Willing to travel to attend trainings, seminars, conferences, audits etc.as & when required.

Skills:



Maintain accurate accounting records for sales, purchases, expenses claims, and

inventory for different small cooperative societies as part of SEWA.

Maintain accounts and track utilization of funds received from Project.

Handle all bank transactions including RTGS, cheque payments, cash deposits, and

cheque deposits for cooperative societies.

Perform bank reconciliation for cooperative societies on a regular basis.

Monthly matching GST records, verifying inputs with GSTR 2A, calculation and

payment of GST

Monthly payment of TDS when applicable.

Verify bills and ensure monthly matching intergroup ledger tallying in accounting

records.

Constant coordination with cooperative societies team is required for timely submitting financial data

Prepare Finance report to be presented to Board monthly/quarterly/annually as and

when requested.

Assist in audit processes and support timely closure of books of accounts.

Conduct physical verification of inventory as instructed by the Finance Coordinator.

Handle bank-related documentation and obtain bank statements as required.

Ensure accounting and maintenance of various statutory compliances.

Perform any other finance-related tasks assigned by the Finance Coordinator
