The Accounts Assistant supports the finance department with day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records and timely processing of transactions. The role involves handling invoices, maintaining ledgers, assisting with reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and on time
Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliation
Prepare and post journals to the general ledger
Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Respond to finance-related queries from internal teams and external suppliers
Support audits by providing required documentation
Skills and Qualifications
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
Strong numerical and analytical skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Good organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills
