Job Description

A Civil Engineering Accounts Assistant supports the finance and project teams by managing daily accounting tasks related to civil construction projects, including processing invoices, tracking expenses against budgets, maintaining financial records, and assisting with financial reporting and compliance. Key responsibilities include handling accounts payable/receivable, reconciling bank statements, processing payments, assisting with payroll, and ensuring accurate project cost tracking and financial documentation. Key Responsibilities

Financial Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all project-related transactions are correctly documented. Organize and file financial documents, both physical and digital, for easy retrieval.

Accounts Management:

Process all incoming invoices and requests for payment. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing vendor and client payments. Handle petty cash, prepare bills, and issue receipts.

Budget Monitoring:

Monitor day-to-day project expenses to ensure they adhere to project budgets. Assist in preparing financial documents such as expense reports and purchase orders.

Reporting and Reconciliation:

Assist in preparing various financial reports and spreadsheets as needed by management. Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Compliance and Administration:

Support the accounting team with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries. Assist with tax preparation and filing under the guidance of senior accountants. Provide administrative support to the accounting department, such as answering phones and emails.
Skills and Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is often preferred.

Experience:

Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or in a similar role is beneficial.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to proper accounting methods.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
