We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Accounts and Finance Manager
to oversee and manage all financial operations for our transportation/cab service company. This role involves budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, cost control, fleet financial analysis, driver/vendor payment reconciliation, and working closely with operations and senior leadership to drive financial strategy and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements.
Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management.
Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
Develop and manage budgets in coordination with various departments.
Forecast revenues and expenditures, especially taking into account fuel costs, driver incentives, and fleet maintenance.
Analyze variances and implement corrective actions.
3. Cost Control & Profitability Analysis
Track and reduce operational costs such as vehicle maintenance, insurance, leasing, and fuel.
Perform cost-benefit analysis for expansion, route optimization, and driver retention initiatives.
Conduct regular financial performance reviews for individual fleets or regions.
4. Vendor & Driver Payments
Ensure timely reconciliation and disbursement of driver earnings, incentives, and reimbursements.
Monitor and reconcile cab leasing or vendor contracts and payments.
Manage disputes, if any, in collaboration with operations and legal teams.
5. Compliance & Audit
Ensure compliance with local, state, and central tax laws and transport regulations.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Maintain appropriate internal controls to safeguard company assets.
6. Strategic Involvement
Partner with the operations team to create efficient pricing models, incentives, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decisions such as fleet expansion or software investments.
Assist in financial modeling and investor presentations if required.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com, BBA).
CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in transportation, logistics, ride-hailing, or a tech-enabled mobility company.
Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP).
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of transport industry KPIs and revenue models (e.g., per km rates, driver incentives, etc.)
Familiarity with digital payment platforms and UPI reconciliation is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
Hands-on experience in managing high-volume transactions (e.g., trip payments, driver payouts, surge pricing adjustments).
