Job Summary
We are looking for a diligent and organised professional to manage accounting tasks alongside end-to-end payroll and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will combine foundational accounting knowledge with hands-on payroll processing, compliance, reporting and general administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
Maintain general ledger entries for payroll, benefits, advances, reimbursements and other people-cost items.
Assist in month-end and year-end accounts.
Generate and maintain accounting schedules, reports and documentation tied to payroll, taxes, benefits, advances, employee loans and settlements.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements (for example GST, TDS) where applicable
Payroll
Process full-cycle payroll for employees: calculate gross pay, deductions, taxes, benefits, overtime, final settlements, leaves etc.
Experience in Attendance tracking
Ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement, maintaining data for new hires, terminations, changes in employment status, pay rates, benefits and deductions.
Prepare and submit statutory filings related to payroll: tax withholdings, social security contributions, employee benefits, regulatory returns.
Experience with ESI and PF.
Reconcile payroll outputs with bank transfers, payroll liability accounts, leave balances and benefit deductions, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Administration
Maintain accurate records and support the HR/People Operations team with required documentation (e.g., joining, exits, payroll data changes).
Assist in audits (internal/external) related to payroll and employee cost accounting; maintain supporting documentation and respond to audit queries.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, HR or related field.
2+years of hands-on experience in payroll processing, accounting and admin
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations).
Good understanding of accounting principles, payroll flows and statutory compliance (taxes, labour laws, benefits).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality and integrity.
Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders (HR, Finance, vendors).
Preferred
Experience in Zoho payroll.
Prior experience in Indian payroll / regulatory environment (TDS, PF/ESI, state labour law, etc.).
Familiarity with bank transfers, employee settlements, loan/advance accounting.
