Gurgaon, IndiaReports to: Senior Director, Accounting Alkami USDepartment: AccountingAbout the role:The India Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations of Alkami Technology India Private Ltd., ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting.While the accounting functions will be managed by an external vendor, the India Accounting Manager will be responsible for reviewing all financial work submitted by the vendor, ensuring its accuracy before forwarding it for approval to the US headquarters. The role acts as the critical "checker" in the maker-checker-approver of financial management, bridging between operational execution and final corporate approval.Role and Responsibilities:Financial Reporting& Compliance:

  • Review financial statements and reports prepare by external vendors for accuracy and compliance with Indian GAAP/US GAAP and corporate policies.
  • Ensure that all Remeasurement entries related to the conversion from local currency to functional currency are in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 830).
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of reviewed financial reports to the US Accounting team for final approval.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, travel and expense, and payroll.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to HQ and local management.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (including taxation, transfer pricing, and statutory audit).
  • Collaborate with the global accounting team to prepare variance analysis and financial performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including tax filings (GST, TDS) and other regulatory obligations.
Internal Controls & Governance:
  • Act as the checker in the maker-checker-approver ow, ensuring that all financial data from external vendors is meticulously reviewed before submission for corporate approval.
  • Maintain a high standard of internal controls and compliance across financial processes, safeguarding company assets and ensuring adherence to corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits of financial data provided by external vendors to ensure transparency and accuracy.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of accounting processes to identify improvements and ensure compliance with corporate policies and internal controls.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Review and approve all tax filings and ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and transfer pricing.
  • Provide insights and strategies for tax planning and compliance matters to mitigate risks and optimize tax efficiency.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with external vendors and the internal finance team to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Act as a liaison between the India-based finance team, external vendors, and the US headquarters to streamline reporting and financial management processes.
Job Requirement:
  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification (CPA, ACCA, or MBA Finance preferred).
  • Experience: 8-12 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 3-5 years in a GCC / captive or multinational organization.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, IFRS, and statutory requirements.
  • Proven ability to review and manage financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
