The Accounts Assistant will support the Accounts and Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Indian accounting standards, and assisting in day-to-day accounting operations such as bookkeeping, invoicing, taxation, and reconciliations.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain books of accounts as per
Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) / Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP - India)
Record daily accounting entries including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
Maintain ledgers, journals, and subsidiary records
Taxation & Compliance
Assist in preparation and filing of
GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.)
Support
TDS calculations, deductions, and return filings
Ensure compliance with
Income Tax, GST, and other statutory requirements
Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants during audits
Banking & Reconciliation
Perform
bank reconciliation statements (BRS)
regularly
Track bank transactions and resolve discrepancies
Assist in payment processing and cheque preparation
Invoicing & Receivables/Payables
Prepare and issue sales invoices as per GST rules
Maintain accounts receivable and payable records
Follow up on outstanding payments and vendor dues
Reporting & Documentation
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records
Support year-end closing activities
Required Skills & Qualifications Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in
Commerce (B.Com)
or equivalent
Additional qualifications such as
M.Com, CA-Inter, or relevant accounting certification
are an advantage
Experience
0-3 years of experience in accounting or finance (freshers with strong basics may apply)
Technical Skills
Knowledge of
Indian accounting practices and taxation
Familiarity with
GST, TDS, and Income Tax basics
Experience with accounting software such as
Tally, Busy, SAP, or similar
Proficiency in
MS Excel
and basic computer applications
Soft Skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Basic communication skills
