In this role, the Accounting Analyst will perform monthly accounting functions and provide financial analysis, emphasizing financial reporting and analysis and enhancing internal controls. The Accounting Analyst is responsible for inventory control and accuracy, annual audit, and year-end close process. What Will You Do?

• Ensure the integrity of financial information in the general ledger and reconcile information in all management and operational reporting to financial results.
• Support the monthly close of the financial accounts, including preparing and posting journal entries, reviewing invoices, and determining accruals.
• Provide variance explanations across key accounts (revenue and cost) by reviewing historical trends, assumptions, and anticipated projections for month-end cycles
• Maintains inventory records and transactions, ensuring accuracy & completeness.
• Complete all inventory month-end and year-end responsibilities, all while ensuring data integrity.
• Ensures accurate and complete reporting of regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
• Key resource for the internal capital expenditure process: including analysis, balance sheet reconciliations & journal entries.
• Various sales analyses and reporting.
• Supports external audit requirements through the preparation of accurate working papers.
• Other duties may include working with Statistics Canada and other external entities to meet reporting obligations.
• Other ad hoc projects and analyses as assigned.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

• Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study (Finance or Accounting) preferred
• Accounting designation (CPA or CA/CMA/CGA) preferred
• 5 + years of relevant experience in an Accounting/Finance role
• 2 to 5 years of Manufacturing, Distribution, Supply Chain, and Logistics experience as an asset
• Experience with Inventory is a great asset
• Advanced Excel skills
• High critical and logical thinking, analytical skills, and reasoning level to identify key risk factors and drivers.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Team player with strong people skills and proven ability to build relationships at various levels of the organization
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Material Requisition Planning (MRP) experience
• Demand Planning experience
• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience using business/data modeling
• Experience working with Business Vision
