Accounting Analyst II

Purpose/Summary of Position:
Analyze and review financial information for Latin American countries
Provide support to the controller's offices, country offices, finance, treasury, and other departments such as Human Resources, Tax, and Supply Chain
Ensure appropriate controls are followed in order to minimize errors and to provide accurate accounting information to internal clients
Main/Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare more complex reconciliations of General Ledger accounts, in order to provide analysis and explanations of variations, as well as review aging of the items that make up the account balances, so that the appropriate actions can be taken.
Analyze, through constant reviews, that accounting information is reliable and allows timely decision making by countries.
Perform monthly close duties and provide support to the reporting process and consolidation of the different business units, as needed.
Record accounting transactions as requested by the business unit and/or as determined necessary.
Participate and actively support the implementation of all improvement and development programs promoted by the company, inside and outside the country.
Interact with different countries in the Latin American Region to meet the requirements of each country, in addition to corporate requirements.
Participate in the implementation of management analysis tools that help to understand variations in the financial statements.
Perform self reviews of work completed in order to mitigate errors.
Functional/Business Skills:
Demonstrates technical knowledge; stays current in auditing or financial reporting fields
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to dialogue, problem solve and interact effectively at all levels
Demonstrated knowledge in audit processes
Business analysis knowledge; finance understanding
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive multiple tasks simultaneously
Key/Required Qualifications and Experiences:
Degree in Accounting, Management or Finance
4+ years experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
SAP knowledge (preferred)
Experience with financial statement analysis and/or knowledge of financial systems of LAO countries
Experience with internal control drivers
