Bookkeeper / School Accountant
to manage and maintain accurate financial records for all units, with a primary responsibility toward
Royal International School
.
The role demands strong accounting skills, precision, and excellent communication abilities, as the accountant will regularly interact with parents, staff members, vendors, and internal departments
Key Responsibilities.
A. Financial Management for Royal International School
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including fee collection, receipts, and reconciliations.
Maintain accurate ledgers, journals, and other financial records.
Handle student fee accounts, concessions, refunds, and dues.
Prepare monthly fee statements and follow up for outstanding payments.
Coordinate with parents for billing clarifications and payment issues.
Process staff salaries, advances, reimbursements, and statutory deductions (PF/ESI/TDS where applicable).
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the school.
B. Bookkeeping Responsibilities for All Trust Units
Record and reconcile all financial transactions across the four organizations under the Trust.
Maintain cashbooks, bank ledgers, and perform regular bank reconciliations.
Ensure all income and expenses are properly documented and classified.
Support internal and external audits by preparing required statements and documentation.
Assist in preparing financial reports for Trustees and management.
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and Trust regulations.
C. Administrative & Operational Support
Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, purchase orders, and maintain vendor records.
Track inventory expenses and coordinate with administrative teams.
Maintain updated records of contracts, agreements, and school financial policies.
Ensure timely submission of reports to management and trustees.
Support the smooth functioning of daily school operations related to finance.
Skills & QualificationsEssential
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
Proven experience (2-5 years preferred) in accounting or school finance administration.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, and accounting software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines.
Preferred
Prior experience working in an educational institution or nonprofit organization.
Knowledge of statutory compliance (TDS, GST, PF/ESI).
Familiarity with trust-based accounting systems.
