We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to take ownership of all taxation and regulatory compliance matters, including GST, TDS, PF, and ESI, and to lead the month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
Position Summary :The Senior Accountant will be a critical member of the Finance team, responsible for ensuring 100% compliance with all applicable Indian tax and labor laws. This role requires a professional with 8-10 years of hands-on experience, advanced proficiency in accounting software - Tally, and a deep understanding of financial statement preparation and audit coordination.
Oversee the accurate calculation, deduction, deposit, and reconciliation of TDS (Salary and Non-Salary) as per Income Tax Act provisions.
Ensure timely filing of all quarterly and annual TDS returns
Issue and reconcile Form 16/16A to vendors and employees.
GST (Goods and Services Tax):
Manage end-to-end GST compliance, including accurate classification of goods and services, and determination of tax liability.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of monthly returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and annual returns (GSTR-9/9C).
Perform meticulous reconciliation of GSTR-2A/2B with the purchase register and books of accounts.
PF & ESI Compliance:
Manage and process monthly contributions for Employees' Provident Fund (PF) and Employees' State Insurance (ESI).
Ensure timely submission of all statutory returns and challan payments related to PF and ESI.
Other Compliance:
Manage Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), and other statutory requirements applicable to the business
2. Financial Accounting & Reporting
Lead the entire month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines.
3. Auditing & Process Improvement
Prepare and finalize accurate financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow) in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS/AS).
Perform comprehensive ledger scrutiny, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations (bank, fixed assets, inter-company accounts).
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including monitoring aging reports and ensuring robust control.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
2 to 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance, and Statutory Compliance.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce/Accounting/Finance.
Technical Expertise:
Hands-on expertise in
TDS, GST, PF, and ESI
computation, payment, and return filing.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros), Book keeping, Bank Reconciliation
In-depth working knowledge of Accounting Software Tally.
