The Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, statutory compliance, and strong financial discipline across the organisation. This is a hands-on position involving day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, statutory coordination, and financial reporting. The role requires close interaction with internal teams, vendors, and external consultants in a fast-growing interior design business.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident in communication, and eager to continuously improve accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate day-to-day books of accounts.
Record all sales, purchases, expenses, and bank transactions.
Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
Perform regular reconciliations of:
Bank accounts
Cash books
Vendor and client ledgers
Manage accounts using Tally and supporting trackers in Google Sheets.
2. Billing, Receivables & Payables
Raise invoices as per approved project milestones.
Track receivables and actively follow up for collections.
Maintain vendor bills and payment schedules.
Ensure timely posting of invoices and payments.
Coordinate with internal teams for approvals and clarifications.
3. Statutory Compliance
Support GST compliance, including sales and purchase data preparation.
Assist with basic GST filing coordination.
Handle TDS-related activities such as deduction entries and filing data preparation.
Coordinate with external Chartered Accountants for:
Monthly and quarterly filings
Year-end finalisation
Maintain compliance records and working files.
4. Reporting & Financial Support
Prepare basic financial reports, including:
Monthly expense summaries
Cash flow tracking
Outstanding receivables and payables
Maintain project-wise expense and revenue tracking.
Assist in preparing data for Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheet support.
Share regular financial updates with management.
5. Coordination & Continuous Learning
Coordinate with internal teams for financial clarifications.
Communicate clearly with vendors and clients.
Proactively highlight discrepancies or issues.
Demonstrate willingness to learn advanced accounting concepts, improved reporting formats, and new tools.
Support audits and internal reviews when required.

Required Skills & Competencies
Strong working knowledge of Tally or similar accounting software
Proficiency in Google Sheets for tracking and reporting
Basic understanding of GST and TDS
High attention to detail and accuracy
