Accountant for Global Financial Operations (based in Chennai, India)

We are looking for

Accountant

for Global Financial Operations to be based in Chennai, India. Global Financial Operations is a global operational finance business partner, providing efficient end-to-end financial processes to Valmet. We are owners of Valmet's operative accounting and invest heavily in process harmonization and software automation. We are ambitious and passionate in developing our processes and team competencies.


In this position, you will be required to,


to perform accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements (specially project accounting knowledge). Reconcile accounts and check the accuracy of journal entries to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and complete. Check and analyze financial information and prepare accounting reports and statements, these reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, regulatory reports and filings Provide advice on GST matters / issue to Project, Sales and Procurement team. Implement Valmet credit policy and manage business partner credit master data verification and maintenance. Perform daily trade receivables control and data validation. Process customer receipts and perform account matching on a daily basis. Monitor account balances, including overdues and profit center splits. Manage allowances on trade receivables. Handle period-end closing, valuations, reconciliations, and balance sheet specifications. Implement Valmet collection policy effectively. Manage customer reminders (calls, reminder letters, etc.) and coordinate collections through external collection agencies.

To succeed this role, you will need:

Graduate degree in Commerce 5 to 10 years of experience in relevant field. Self motivated and team player ERP/SAP knowledge Good written and oral communication skills in English.
