The Accounts Head is responsible for overseeing the entire accounting function of the organization, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and expertise in Indian taxation and labor laws.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Supervise day-to-day accounting operations.
Prepare and review financial statements, MIS reports, and budgets.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
Taxation & Compliance
Manage
GST compliance
: filing returns, reconciliation, and handling audits.
Oversee
TDS compliance
: deduction, payment, and filing returns.
Ensure
PF & ESIC compliance
for employees, including timely contributions and filings.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary adjustments.
Internal Controls & Audit
Develop and maintain internal control systems.
Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors for audits and queries.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the accounts team.
Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to timelines.
Vendor & Client Coordination
Handle vendor payments and client billing.
Resolve discrepancies and maintain strong relationships.
Skills Required
Technical Expertise
Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
Proficiency in GST, TDS, PF, ESIC compliance.
Strong understanding of payroll accounting and statutory deductions.
Software Skills
Expertise in accounting software (Tally, SAP, or ERP systems).
Advanced MS Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
Analytical & Problem-Solving
Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Leadership & Communication
Excellent team management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with management and external stakeholders.
